Do I need a referral from a Doctor to see a physiotherapist?
No! Physiotherapists are primary health practitioners; we don’t require a referral.
I have a referral to another Physiotherapy Centre. Can I come to Hastings Physio and Health instead?
You sure can. Bring the referral with you to your first session and we’ll let your referring doctor know you’ve commenced treatment with us.
Can I refer friends to Hastings Physio and Health for physiotherapy?
Absolutely – we love referrals! By referring your friend or family to us, you’re helping them find a solution to their problem. And we will be most grateful for the opportunity to assist.
What should I bring to my first physiotherapy session?
Bring along any relevant x-rays, correspondence from doctors and scan results if you have them, your private health card (if you are a member), and a means of paying for your treatment – cash or credit/debit card.
What do I need to wear to my physiotherapy session?
Depending on the area of your injury will depend on the appropriate clothing. We recommend wearing something that can be easily moved to expose the problem area. For example, if it’s an injury to the lower limbs, wearing or bringing shorts is advisable. For the upper body, a singlet is recommended. At Hastings Physio and Health, your privacy and comfort will always be respected.
Is there plenty of parking and easy access?
Yes! We’re located in the New Bunnings Oxley Corner Complex next to World Gym. There is plenty of parking and easy access with no steps.
How long will my physiotherapy appointment be?
Our appointments usually last for 30-60mins. Please allow plenty of time to ensure you receive a comprehensive assessment and treatment session.
Will I get a reminder for my upcoming physiotherapy appointment?
Yes! Once we have your mobile number in our system you will be sent a reminder the day prior to your appointment. If you can’t make the appointment for any reason, we would appreciate a call to reschedule your appointment.
I’m going for an operation, do you provide post-operative rehabilitation?
Yes, we do! Our physiotherapists work alongside your surgeons to formulate a customised rehabilitation plan. Members of our team also service the medical ward at the Private Hospital. Here we see patients on the first day post operation. You can be assured our therapists are the best in post-operative rehabilitation.
How many physiotherapy sessions will I need to get better?
In your initial assessment your therapist will give you a “Recommended Action Plan”. Here we outline your treatment program and how many sessions we estimate to get you back to full health. Your progress will be regularly checked throughout this period to maintain excellent progress.
What if I want a massage?
We regularly recommend massage treatment to our physiotherapy clients as a follow-up to help with maintenance after recovering from specific injuries. However, you don’t need to be seeing one of our physiotherapists first to have treatment by our skilled massage therapist. Just book an appointment for a massage!
Do you accept physiotherapy Worker’s Compensation and CTP claims?
Yes, however, if you are claiming your treatment through an insurance company it is advisable to see your GP to get a referral to Hastings Physio and Health. If you already have a claim number, please bring this and insurer details to your initial appointment.
What methods of payment do you accept?
Private patients must pay at the end of each session. We accept EFTPOS, Visa/Mastercard payments and cash. Insurance claims will be billed directly to the insurance provider once all necessary claim numbers and information has been provided to us.
Can I claim private health insurance rebates for my physiotherapy appointment?
Yes, and ON THE SPOT! We use the HICAPs system to arrange direct funds transfer of your rebate, so bring your health fund card with you to your treatment.
Unfortunately not, however Hastings Physio and Health can accommodate anyone on the NDIS who is plan managed or self-managed and seeking physiotherapy or exercise physiology treatement.
