Lymphatic Massage
Our occupational therapist, Rebecca, has additional training as a Level 1 Lymphoedema Practitioner and completed her training through Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. Rebecca can assist patients with Lymphoedema through lymphatic massage, compression garment prescription, exercise prescription and management education.
Lymphatic massage aims to increase the efficiency of your lymphatic and circulatory system. It is a gentle style of massage that reduces the volume of retained fluid and the pressure associated. This increases your circulatory system's capacity to rapidly move out retained fluids and any built up toxic waste.
You May Benefit from Lymphatic Massage if you have:
- Swollen legs or arms due to fluid retention
- Swelling of a limb: pre or post-surgery
- Lymphoedema post-mastectomy or breast cancer treatment
- Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
- Depression or anxiety
